Description
The 1993 Stadium Club Murphy set is a 200-card, Hobby-exclusive, set. The set features 100 Draft Picks, 56 All-Stars, all 25 members of the 1992 USA Baseball team and, and 19 post-season highlight cards. The set was packaged in a molded-plastic box designed to resemble San Diego's Jack Murphy Stadium, the site of the 1992 MLB All-Star Game and each set came packaged with 12 over-size "Master Photo" cards.
Production was limited to 8000, 16-set cases or 128,000 sets.
Although the design mimics the 1992 Stadium Club set and both the printing on the outside of the box and the copyright date on the cards say "1992," the set was released in March 1993, a full month after the release of 1993 Stadium Club Series One.
Notable Rookie Cards in this set include Derek Jeter, Jason Kendall, Shannon Stewart and Preston Wilson. A second year Team USA Nomar Garciaparra is featured in this set as well.
