Description

Released in the summer of 1997, E-X2000 (produced by Fleer's Skybox unit) consists of 102 cards. This is really one of the most colorful and great looking sets on the market. The cards are printed on clear acetate with have action photos. The player photo's are embossed, standing out slightly from the card. This set also has a double picture on the front and the back of the cards.

Unlike that year's basketball version (1996-97 E-X2000) which has a Kobe Bryant rookie card, there are no notable rookies in this set.

Distribution

A hobby exclusive, each box of 1997 E-X2000 contained 24 packs of 2 super premium cards each.

Checklist

Promos

Dealers who ordered E-X2000 cases were given an Alex Rodriguez promo card. The card parallels his base card but is sequentially numbered as "SAMPLE" and serial-numbered to 3,000 copies. There also exists an oversized promotional "strip" featuring A-Rod, but this card is extremely rare.

Base Set

NOTE: Each pack contained either a checklist or a redemption card. The checklists are sequentially-numbered as part of the set; however, are printed on plain cardstock.
