Description

2000 Pacific Invincible is a 150-card set released in October, 2000. All cards are written in both English and Spanish.

The product was intended for release in August, but was pushed back so that Pacific could include their first game-used inserts. Unfortunately for Pacific, among those game-used cards is the now infamous Manny Ramirez "corked bat" card.

Distribution

36 packs per box, three cards per pack (MSRP: $2.99)

Manny Ramirez "Corked" Bat Card Controversy

At least two of the 200 serial-numbered copies of the Manny Ramirez's Game Gear bat card (card #16 in the set) have a piece of cork in them.

On a January, 2012 edition of Cardboard Connection Radio, Jeff Morris, Pacific's former Vice President of Marketing, detailed the story behind the infamous Manny Ramirez "corked bat" Game Gear card. It is believed that this card may have led to Pacific's exit from the baseball card business.
