Description
2001 Fleer Red Sox 100th is a 100-card set created in commemoration of the Boston Red Sox' 100th anniversary. The production was released in June, 2001. Every single card in the product depicts a current and/or former Red Sox player.
In addition to the conventional Hobby box, Fleer also issued this product as a factory set and in a special Hobby-only "Legacy" Box. Both the factory set and Legacy box contained a die-cast Red Sox tractor trailer from White Rose Collectibles (which Fleer had acquired earlier in 2001). In addition, the Legacy box also included a Red Sox hat autographed by a Red Sox player.
2001 marked the 100th Anniversary of the American League, and Fleer had proposed similar sets for the other seven charter A.L. teams, but only issued this set.
Distribution
Hobby: 24 packs per box, five cards per pack (MSRP: $2.99)
Legacy: 15 packs plus one die-cast Red Sox tractor trailer and one autographed Red Sox hat, five cards per pack. Hobby only.
Factory Sets: Also includes one die-cast Red Sox tractor traier.
