Below you will find a map of user-submitted card shop locations with descriptions. The idea of compiling a list of card shops started at the blog A Cardboard Problem.

<googlemap version="0.9" lat="41" lon="-91" zoom="4" width="800" height="600" type="map" controls="large">

33.596383, -112.120174, Batter's Box Baseball Cards 2855 West Cactus Road Phoenix, AZ

Mostly vintage cards.

33.416362, -111.685039, Hot Corner 6750 East Main Street Mesa, AZ

The owner, JJ Genzale, opened the store in 1990 and has been in the same location the whole time.He knows his stuff.

32.835547, -116.98337, All Star Cards 8781 Cuyamaca Street Santee, CA

Singles on consignment, boxes and packs (almost everything dating back 10 years), junk wax, supplies... Baseball heavy but has stuff from all sports and large selection of non-sports. Great prices, especially on supplies, run by a guy and his daughter. Very friendly.

37.246499,-121.8888, All-American Sports Cards 1377 Kooser Road San Jose, CA 95118-3814 (408) 267-0300

This is one of those shops that seems to have survived because the strip mall it's in isn't the best, but it is in a pretty good location, near a McDonald's and a Chuck E. Cheese's, so the kid magnet factor helps add a little gravity to the shop. It's a little sad walking in, as at least a third of the shelf space is just empty, and another 10% of it is placeholder inventory that nobody ever buys (celebrity photos, player plaques, junk boxes of various Pro Set, etc.). There's a moderate amount of M:TG and kid gaming cards, but limited to one display case, and the rest of the shop is sports related.

This shop is a case of how current wax can keep a store in business. Their older wax is varied, and their loose cards are a good deal, especially for local sports teams. The owner is also likely to boost you some freebies out of inventory, especially if you're a new customer. The shop is friendly bases its prices in reality, with the exception of a little premium on high-end new wax.

37.323064,-121.953704, Stevens Creek Sports Cards 3220 Stevens Creek Boulevard San Jose, CA 95117-1131 (408) 243-1120 www.peninsulasportscards.com/index.php

Simply put, this shop is a sports card collector's dream. I used to work within walking distance from it, and would hit it at lunchtime about once a month.

There isn't a single Magic card, Yu-gi-oh pack, comic book, beanie baby, or hot wheel to be found. Just wall-to-wall four major sports cards, autos, and memorabilia. Baseball cards, including HOFers, dating back to the 19th century, as well as early 20th century oddball stuff, are highlights for me every time I go.

The owners are exactly what you'd hope for; tough graders that also price everything at normal exchange value. Anything vintage that's a bit off-grade (EX or less) is regularly 10% off, and once you hit the register, they're likely to round down the price for you a little further.

On my last visit, they even gave me a little break on some very hot current wax. I am a repeat customer, but these guys will be fair and a little generous; they'll want to increase the chances of repeat business.

Interestingly, this shop is one of a network of three that runs up the Peninsula. The Belmont shop is also good, and does have a smattering of kid gaming cards, but the store is 80% sports, and they have a huge assortment of older wax boxes that are often at fierce discounts.

If you're a sports fan and card collector that happens to be taking a trip to the Bay Area to see a game, you have to add Stevens Creek Sports Cards to your sightseeing list. It's practically a card museum with affordable price tags and top-notch curators.

39.642254, -104.827699, Mike's Stadium Sportscards 4022 South Parker Road Aurora, CO www.mikesss.com

It's not there anymore, but the name lives on!

They sell everything you can think of Packs, boxes, supplies. Been in business for a long time. The owner is very knowledgeable and courteous and touts himself as "the king of singles." I love going through the boxes and boxes of singles. All prices are very reasonable.

30.40333,-88.936848, Jak's 1670 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS‎ (228) 435-7744‎

15 years after I moved away, Jak's is still there. It's mostly a CCG/Comic Book shop, but they do carry sports cards. Caters mostly to Keesler AFB personnel.

41.166541,-95.923622, D&F Sportscards 435 N Galvin Rd Bellevue, NE 68005

Don't know if D&F is still in business, but when I was stationed at Offutt AFB, this was my card shop.

Temdee has been in the collectible business since 1976, and has been at the current location since 1991. The building is approx. 6000 sq. ft and is situated on the Black Horse Pike (NJ Route 42) in Turnersville, New Jersey. Business hours are: Mon-Fri noon to 8:00PM, Sat. 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Sunday noon to 5:00 PM.

Temdee first opened in 1976 as a stamp and coin shop in Runnemede, New Jersey. In 1979 Temdee started to buy and sell baseball cards as well as other sports cards and non sports cards, and sports collectibles. These included yearbooks and programs, bobble dolls, autographed items, etc. In 1981, comic books were added to our existing store. As Temdee continued to grow, they finally moved into their current home in 1991. It had been a small strip center with one large store and two small stores. They bought the entire center and made the two smaller stores a warehouse and used the large store for retail. Since then, Temdee has added collectible toys including Star Wars and Starting Line-Ups.

41.099069, -74.022292, ToyWiz Inc 253 W Route 59 Nanuet, NY

Store sells mostly comics, action figures, and non-sports cards. They have a solid selection of packs from the major sports, and some singles (very expensive singles).

43.291155,-76.151302, Grave of Jefferson Burdick

Yes, THE Jefferson Burdick.

Brick-and-mortar store of famed YouTube video breaker Chris Justice. The Hobby Box Sports Card Shop was established April 2006. CardsInfinity.com Website established August 2007. Creator of the infamous "Jersey Card Shirt," a t-shirt with over 500 fabric swatches taken from game-used cards and later sold to Dr. Wax Battle.

34.762489,-77.419766, Grand Slam Sports Cards 211 Henderson Drive Jacksonville, NC 28540-5603 (910) 346-7526

If you're ever stuck in Jacksonville, North Carolina and have an urge to bust wax, check this place out.

41.158468, -81.49272, All-Pro Sportscards 492 Graham Road Cuyahoga Falls, OH

They have a huge selection of singles, all ranging from 25 cents and up. They also have a relic/auto bin separated by sport which is $5 each or 4 for $20. TONNNNS of packs, TONS of cases, and also some memorabilia. A little pricey but the selection is amazing! Also they trade with buyers. Rich, the owner, is very friendly. NOT open on Sundays!

41.002617, -81.408184, Cardboard Dreams 2467 Canton Road Akron, OH

Much cheaper than All Pro, but the selection for everything is a lot smaller, as is the shop in general. 10 cent cardboard cases of cards, which is cool, though many of those cards are of the "we busted such and such expensive product for the hits, here are the base cards" variety. A few $1, $2, $5 bins, but nothing much in them (not even relics or autos), and no real hits to be found as singles. Decent amount of cases and packs at lower prices than All Pro, but again, selection isn't as nice. They do stay current though and have the latest stuff, and the owner was nice.

41.243352, -81.345448, Collectors Palace 9274 Ohio 43 Streetsboro, OH

This shop sells sports cards, comics, coins and gold. They usually have a good selection of newer wax packs and boxes. They don't open very much product, so it's just packs, boxes and some vintage singles. The prices are fair and they are open seven days a week.

41.111834, -81.468781, Chapel Hill Sports 2000 Brittain Road Akron, OH Open Mon-Sat 10-9, Sun 10-6

This shop is located inside the Chapel Hill Mall in Cuyahoga Falls. They carry sports cards, supplies, apparel and memorabilia. They have some singles and a very limited selection of wax. Despite being in a mall, their prices on wax are very reasonable. The owner is very friendly and likes to talk sports.

41.385001, -81.340696, Grand Slam Sports Cards 17800 Chillicothe Road Chagrin Falls, OH

This shop is one of the best on the east side of Cleveland. Joe's shop is literally jammed full of cards. Boxes, packs, singles, supplies.... his selection is the best. Lots of wax boxes, dating back to the 70s even. Good prices too.

41.313476, -81.507492, Dream Chaser Sports Cards 874 East Aurora Road Macedonia, OH

This shop is new, just opening in the summer of 2009. He has a good selection of singles, low-end and high-end wax. Prices can be a bit high at times.

41.233319, -80.474687, Baseball Card Shop 1891 East State Street Hermitage, PA 724-981-4443 http://baseballcardshop.net

The Baseball Card Shop is the best shop in this area. Jim, the owner, has been running the shop forever (since 1989). This shop is the go-to shop for both low-end and high-end wax. He has one of the largest selections of packs I've ever seen at a shop. He must have over 50 different baseball packs for sale. The cost of new packs and boxes are fair, but his prices on old wax boxes are high. Occasionally he has 10-15% off sales on all his boxes.

41.239236, -80.503389, Bennie's 462 North Sharpsville Avenue Sharon, PA

Bennie's has been open since the mid-80s. They sell comic books and sports cards. Bennie ran the comics portion while Mary, his wife, handled the sports cards portion up until about 2003 when they sold the shop an it's all the contents. Currently, the shop is open under a new owner and they have many singles, in random boxes which aren't organized. They don't sell high-end wax, just your Topps 1 & 2, Heritage, some UD. They also have sets and 90s wax boxes for sale.

40.177002, -74.884298, All Stars 2300 East Lincoln Highway Langhorne, PA

In business since 1990, All-Stars provides the best collectibles, games & supplies available at great everyday prices! The store is located on the outside of Oxford Valley Mall, facing the parking lot between Macy's & the One Oxford Valley office building in Langhorne, PA. We're open from 10 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday, and 11 AM to 6 PM on Sundays. Stop by anytime you're in the Philadelphia/Trenton/Bucks County area!

38.684787, -77.260881, Slewfoot's Sports 313 Mill Street Occoquan, VA

An "old-school," hole-in-the-wall card shop. Located in the basement of an antique store, Slewfoot's has plenty of singles and all the latest wax. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

38.995392,-77.447425, Blowout Cards 11 Acacia Lane Sterling, VA 20166 703-421-5644 www.blowoutcards.com

No, they don't have a store. But this is the location of Blowout's facility.

39.01573,-77.372467, Collector's Corner 47024 Harry Byrd Highway (VA Rt. 7) #106, Sterling VA 20164 (703) 450-7280 www.collectorscornerva.com/

Located in a suburban strip-mall, Collector's Corner has a decent selection of wax, singles, and supplies -- albeit on the pricey side. You can do worse though.

47.652926, -122.690572, Swell & Wacky Collectibles 9960 Silverdale Way Northwest Silverdale, WA

Glenn Watchmen is what I would consider the perfect Sports Card shop owner. He was my go to guy when I was still living in Seattle, I would drive an hour out of my way to go buy from him even though I lived down the street from West Coast Sports Cards.

47.320314, -122.307836, West Coast Sports Cards 2008 South 314th Street Federal Way, WA

They carry everything and I mean everything from cards to comics to Beanie Babies and Pokemon cards. They hire people off the street that know nothing about sports cards and you just point to what you want and they will grab it for you. I would only suggest this place if you are looking for something specific that you can not find elsewhere.
