Cardboard Connection Radio Set of the Week
1998 Topps TEK (stylized in CAPS) is a massive 8100-card set released exclusively to Hobby outlets in October, 1998. This set consists of 90 cards all printed on acetate, with 90 patterns available for each player. Each card is sequentially-numbered twice: Card number and pattern number. At 8100 cards (90 players X 90 patterns), it is the largest set ever produced.

Diffractors, which are seeded 1 in every 6 packs, are parallels of every unique pattern. Because diffractors are not serial-numbered, it's unknown how many were made of pattern. Many collectors agree between 10 and 20 were made for each pattern.

Previous Sets of the Week

Just released

2015 Topps Series One was released in the first week of February 2015. Similar to previous years, 2015 Topps Series One is distributed in various packaging formats: Hobby box, hobby jumbo box, retail box, retail rack packs, retail blasters, retail hanger boxes, etc.... Each hobby box promises one relic or auto while each hobby jumbo boxes promises one auto and two relics.

2014 Panini Elite Extra Edition is a 95-card set supplemented by a 98-card "Prospects" set, that was released January 7, 2015. Each 20-pack Hobby box will yield six autographs and a USA Baseball jersey card.

2014 National Treasures is a 224-card set released by Panini on January 2, 2015. Each eight-card box will contain four autographs, one multi-swatch "Book" card, and three other "hits."

2014 Bowman Sterling is a 50-card set, supplemented by a 50-card "Prospects" insert set, released December 31, 2014. Each four-card pack will yield three autographs.

2014 Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects is a 220-card set, released exclusively to Hobby outlets, on December 10, 2014. Each Hobby box will yield one autograph; Jumbo boxes three autographs; and the new Super Jumbos, five autographs.

2014 Topps Five Star was released December 10th. Unlike the previous year's product, there will be no "base set," and noticeably fewer Relics. Each six-card box will yield:

Four autographs Either an autographed Relic or a Golden Graph or Silver Signature autograph Either a fifth autograph, a Legends Relic, a one-of-one Relic, or a one-of-one Cut Signature

2014 Topps Dynasty was released December 3, 2014. Each card is a either a one-of-one cut signature, or an autographed patch card serial-numbered to 10 copies or less.

2014 Topps High Tek, a 100-card (or 600 counting all the patterns) set, was released in early December 2014. After a 14-year hiatus, Topps has brought back the all-acetate card set, popular with extreme set collectors. However, the format only bears a passing resemblance to the original product. Each eight-card box will yield one autograph and one serial-numbered parallel.

2014 Panini Classics is a 200-card set released November 19. Each 24-pack mini box will contain two 12-pack mini boxes, each of which will yield one autograph and one memorabilia card. This product contains the first memorabilia cards of Hall of Famers Roger Bresnehan, Bob Meusel and Gabby Hartnett

2014 Topps Heritage High Numbers is a 100-card set released exclusively by Topps via their web store shoptopps.com. Each sealed set comes with a Real One autograph.

Released exclusively to retail outlets in special "Mega Boxes" on November 19, 2014 Topps Chrome Update is a 55-card partial parallel of the 2014 Topps Update base set. Each Mega Box contained five packs of 2014 Topps Update and two packs of Chrome Update and retailed for $14.99.

2014 Panini Prizm Perennial Draft Picks is a 150-card set released November 12, 2014. Like the previous year's product, the set does not feature any current Majoe League players, and is NOT licensed by either MLB Properties or the MLB Players Association -- despite Panini's license with the MLBPA.

Each 12-pack Hobby box will yield four autographs and five Prizm parallels -- three of which will be serial-numbered.

2014 Topps Supreme was be released October, 29. Just like last year's product, every card in the set will be autographed and serial-numbered to 50 copies or less. Unlike 2013 Supreme which was exclusive to the Asian market, 2014 Supreme is available worldwide.

2014 Topps Update is a 330-card set released October, 15.

2014 Panini Hall of Fame 75th Anniversary is a 300-card set released the week of October 8. Each 12-card box will yield two autographs, six inserts, and four base cards. All base cards are serial-numbered to 75 copies or less.

2014 Stadium Club is a 200-card set released on October 1, 2014. This is the first Stadium Club set issued since the much-maligned 2008 edition.

The product will be packaged similarly to Finest with three 6-pack mini boxes in every Hobby box. Each mini box will yield an autograph, two parallels and two inserts.

2014 Bowman Chrome is a 220-card set, supplemented by a 100-card Prospects insert set, released the week of September 24, 2014. For the first time, each 18-pack Hobby box will yield two autographs; while the new Jumbo boxes will have five autographs.

2014 Panini Immaculate is a 147-card set released September 21, 2014. Each six-card box will contain five autographs or game-used cards and one base card or parallel. Every card in the product is serial-numbered to 99 copies or less.

By our calculations, only 11,500 boxes were produced.

2014 Triple Threads is a 141-card set released by Topps on September 10, 2014. As in previous year's each seven-card pack will yield three base cards, two serial-numbered parallels, a serial-numbered Relic card, and an Autographed Relic card.

2014 Topps Chrome is a 220-card set released August 27. Each 24-pack Hobby box will yield two autographs. New for 2014 are Jumbo packs, with each 12-pack Hobby-exclusive Jumbo box containing up to five autographs.

2014 Finest is a 100-card set relased August 13, 2014. Each six-pack mini-box will yield an autograph; while two mini-boxes will make up a Hobby Master Box.

The second series of 2014 Donruss was released August 5, 2014. This was the first "Donruss Baseball" set in nine years; however, bears little resemblance to the "flagship" brand it had been. Instead, Panini decided to reconfigure Donruss into a "retro" style product. Each 24-pack Hobby is expected to yield two autographs and a game-used card.

2014 Bowman Platinum is a 100 card set supplemented by a 100 card Prospects "insert," and was released the week of July 30th, 2014. Each 20-pack Hobby box will yield two autographs and an autographed Relic.

2014 Topps Mini, a 660-card set, was released to the hobby during the National Sports Collector's Convention which was held from July 30-Aug 3, 2014. Wax boxes were only available for purchase at the Topps booth. Each wax box contains one autograph or relic card.

2014 Topps Allen & Ginter's, a 350-card set, was released to the hobby on July 9th and to retail outlets a few days prior. Similar to prior years, hobby boxes contain 24 packs and include autographs and relics from athletes, celebrities and notable personalities.

2014 Panini Golden Age is a 150-card set, released in July, 2014. Each pack will contain one mini-sized parallel, and each 24-pack Hobby box will yield one Autograph, one memorabilia card, and one over-sized box topper.

2014 Bowman Inception was released the week of June 18, 2014. As with the previous year's version of the product, there is no base set in the traditional sense. Each five card pack contains four autographs and an autographed relic card.
