1976 Topps
Description
1976 Topps is a 660-card set known for its sharp color photographs and interesting presentation of subjects. Team cards feature a checklist back for players on that team and show a small inset photo of the manager on the front.
A "Father and Son" series (66-70) spotlights five Major Leaguers whose fathers also made the "Big Show." Other subsets include "All Time All Stars" (341-350), "Record Breakers" from the previous season (1-6), League Leaders (191-205), Post-season cards (461-462), and Rookie Prospects (589-599).
The following players' regular issue cards are explicitly denoted as All-Stars, 10, 48, 60, 140, 150, 165, 169, 240, 300, 370, 380, 395, 400, 420, 475, 500, 580, and 650.
The key Rookie Cards in this set are Dennis Eckersley, Ron Guidry, and Willie Randolph.

Parallels
O-Pee-Chee
1976 O-Pee-Chee is a full 660-card parallel of the Topps brand produced under license for the Canadian market. The OPC cards were printed on a noticeably brighter cardstock than their Topps counterparts, but had centering issues.
Other than the cardstock, the only other difference between Topps and OPC is the addition of French text on the back of each card.
48 packs per box, eight cards plus one stick of gum per pack (MSRP: C$0.10).
Team Checklists
An uncut sheet of all 24 team checklists was available by sending 50 cents plus one wrapper to Topps. The sheet measures 10 1/2" X 20 1/8" and, when cut, each card measures the standard size.
Curiously, the reverse side of each uncut sheet card contains the same mail-in offer as the checklists inserted into packs.
