Checklist
Samples
Early in 1988, Score prepared some samples to show prospective dealers and buyers of the new Score cards what they would look like. These sample cards are distinguished by the fact that there is a row of zeroes for the 1987 season statistics since the season was not over when these sample cards were being printed. The cards are standard size and are virtually indistinguishable from the regular 1988 Score cards of the same players except for border color variations in a few instances.

Parallels
Score Glossy
Similar to Topps Tiffany and Fleer Glossy, 1988 Score Glossy is a 660 card parallel of the regular 1988 Score set. 5000 serial-numbered sets were produced; however, the individual cards are not. These sets were issued in factory set versions only and released solely through Major League Marketing's Hobby accounts.
Inserts
Young Superstars Series One
This high-gloss set was inserted into rack packs and as a factory set and features 40 of the top prospects for 1988. A second series of 40 cards was sold exclusively as a factory set.
<sql2wiki database="carddb"> SELECT num, player FROM cards WHERE (year = 1988) AND (setname = 'Score Young Superstars I') ORDER BY num +0 ASC; </sql2wiki>
Box Bottoms
Similar to their competitors, Score printed "cards" on the bottoms of their wax boxes. Unlike the competition, the design of the 1988 Score Box Bottoms was original. There are six different wax box bottom panels each featuring three players and a trivia question. When panels are cut into individual cards, they are standard size. The card backs of the players feature the respective League logos most prominently.
<sql2wiki database="carddb"> SELECT num,player,info FROM cards WHERE (year = 1988) AND (setname = 'Score Box Cards'); </sql2wiki>
Do You Remember? Trivia
Each pack contained one of 56 Do You Remember? lenticular "Magic Motion" Trivia cards. At the time, Topps had the exclusive right to sell packs of baseball cards as a stand-alone product, so each pack of Score had to include something other than baseball cards. (This is the same reason each pack of Donruss and Fleer came with a jigsaw puzzle piece or team logo sticker.)
The 56-card set features a moment in baseball history -- although no images of the player in question appear on the card. An entire set was included in each factory set.
