2000 Fleer Tradition
Description
2000 Fleer Tradition is a 450-card, single-series set, released in February, 2000. Printed on a gray cardstock and a design reminiscent of the 1954 Topps baseball set, 2000 Fleer Tradition ushered-in the wave of "Retro"-themed products like Topps Heritage and Allen & Ginter that drove The Hobby in the 2000s. Subsets are as follows: League Leaders (1-10), Award Winners (435-440), Division Playoffs-World Series Highlights (441-450). Dual-player prospect cards, team cards and six checklist cards (featuring a floating head image of several of the game's top stars) are also sprinkled throughout the set.
Glossy Factory Set
In addition to the non-glossy cards found in packs, Fleer issued a factory set that contained 500 glossy cards. Released in December, 2000, each Glossy set included an additional 50 "Prospect" cards; however, each set only included five of these cards. (If it's missing 45 cards, is it really a "factory set?") Each of the Prospects are serial-numbered to 1000 copies. It's assumed a total of 10,000 sets were issued based upon the insertion rate of the "high series" cards. Each Glossy Factory Set also came with one of 45 serial-numbered Lumberjacks game-bat cards.
Glossy Hawaii Trade Conference
Fleer stamped all 500 base cards and all 45 Lumberjacks bat cards from one, and only one, Glossy set with the logo of the annual Hawaii Trade Conference. Each attendee of the 2001 Hawaii Trade Conference received one randomly selected card, which was encased.
Distribution

Glossy Exclusive Prospects
Each Glossy Factory Set came with five of 50 Glossy exclusive Prospects. (Which begs the question, if it's missing 45 cards, is it really a "factory set?") The Prospects are sequentially-numbered as an extension of the base set and each card is serial-numbered to 1000 copies. Since most of these players appeared in 2000 Fleer Tradition Update (which was released before the Glossy Factory Set), very few are considered "true" rookie cards.

Autographs & Game-Used
Fresh Ink
Each Fresh Ink features an autograph signed on a sticker affixed to the card, making it one of The Hobby's first examples of a "sticker" autograph. Unlike later sticker autographs, each sticker was unsigned when it was attached to the card. Fleer resorted to this method as the ink from a signature would never fully dry on the card's glossy surface. The stickered area of the card is embossed with a Fleer seal for authenticity. The set is not sequentially-numbered.
<sql2wiki database="carddb"> SELECT player,info from cards WHERE (year = '2000') AND (setname='Fleer Tradition Fresh Ink'); </sql2wiki>
Lumberjacks
One of these 45 game-used bat cards were randomly inserted into each Glossy Factory set. Just like with the Glossy base cards, one copy of each Lumberjack was foil-stamped and distributed to attendees of the 2001 Hawaii Trade Conference.
Each card is serial-numbered on the reverse side. Unlike most serial-numbered cards the serial number is embossed and not foil-stamped.
