Description

Released in mid-August of 1998, Pacific Online featured 750 player cards, 20 variations, and 30 team checklists. Every card contained a URL that corresponded with the either the pictured player or team. (It should be noted that the "bigleaguers.yahoo.com" domain has long since expired, and some of the team's official website URLs have changed.) Red Foil and Web parallels were available in packs. Winner cards, which are extremely scarce, were only available though the web site using a code printed on the back of some of the Red and Web parallels.

To add some spice to the set, the manufacturer decided to create two versions of twenty top stars. These cards are designed and (unfortunately) numbered identically, but feature totally different photos on both the front and back. For simplification to checklisting, we've added A and B suffixes to these cards, and added descriptions of the photos in an attempt to differentiate them.

Distribution

Hobby: 24 packs per box, nine cards per pack (MSRP: $1.49).

Retail: 20 packs per box, eight cards per pack.

Blasters: 9 packs per box, eight cards per pack (MSRP: $9.97).
